She has worked in communities throughout Los Angeles, Washington D.C., New York City and abroad in Chile, India, and Morocco. She holds a Masters in Public Health, with an emphasis on Urbanism and the Built Environment, from Columbia University. She is active in her local community, serving on the UNA Pasadena Chapter board; Zanja Madre, an organization which aims to impart how the built environment directly impacts the quality of our lives, and New Horizon School Garden Committee, working to build the first Peace Garden in a local Muslim School.
